Environmental controls for your room: getting started

For your comfort and convenience, your room has been set up with an automated environmental control system. This allows you to control the environment in your room to suit your personal preferences.
Features include:

  • General lighting in the room: the above bed down light, ensuite and reading lights all with dimming abilities
  • Air conditioning: temperature control warmer or cooler from a set point
  • Motorised window blinds: one block out and one shade blind per room that can be operated independently of each other
  • Television controls: on/off, channels and volume

The system can be controlled through an app on your own device or from simple switch panels located at the entrance to the room, beside the bed and ensuite. The panels illuminate when a hand comes close allowing you or a member of your care team to easily change the room conditions without having to turn on the lights.

Please follow these simple steps to setup your own iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

Step 1: Connect your device to the hospital MaterGuest Wi-Fi. Please speak to a member of your care team for further information on accessing the network.

Step 2: Install the TPControl app from the store for your device.

Step 3: Start the TPControl app and touch the small QR code in the top left corner next to Connect using profile.

Step 4: The app will now prompt you to scan your unique environmental control system QR code—this is conveniently located next to your bedside. You are now connected to the control system for your room and have complete control.

Wi-Fi for patients and visitors

Mater Private Hospital Springfield offers complimentary Wi-Fi. Patients will be able to access Wi-Fi by using the MaterGuest network. Please check with a member of your care team for further instructions on accessing the network.
