- antenatal counselling for antenatal clubfoot diagnosis
- informative and supportive printed and visual educational resources from antenatal diagnosis and onwards
- specialised assessment and treatment of clubfoot and the relapsed clubfoot
- Ponseti method serial casting (international standard treatment method for infants with clubfoot)
- prescription and monitoring of boots and bar splint application
- combined orthopaedic specialist and physiotherapist consultations
- orthopaedic surgical procedures by experienced orthopaedic specialists
- assessment, advice and physiotherapy for babies, toddlers and children with toe walking and postural foot conditions, including Metatarsis adductus, in-toeing, intra-uterine packaging and neuromuscular conditions involving the foot.

Access information
GP and specialist doctor referrals are accepted directly to the service via the contact details below.
A GP referral is required for patients with a structural clubfoot, and conditions requiring a consultation with an orthopaedic specialist. Please address the referrals directly to Dr Ivan Astori or Dr David Bade.
Please note that physiotherapy only consultations do not require a referral. Your child may attend the Clubfoot Service by directly contacting the service to make an appointment.
A referral to physiotherapy is however, required if you have a GP Chronic Disease Management Plan from your GP.
The Clubfoot Service at Mater Children's Private Brisbane is for families with private health insurance or those who would like to self-fund services. Please contact us via telephone at 07 3163 2468 for a fee schedule.
Mater Clubfoot Service staff are recognised providers with private health finds and Medicare. Rebates for services are available.
We accept Chronic Disease Management Plan referrals for children with clubfoot (five subsidised visits per year as defined by Medicare). For further information regarding eligibility for Chronic Disease Management Plan, please contact the service via telephone 07 3163 2468.

Mater Children's Private Brisbane

The main entrance for Mater Children's Private Brisbane is via the Salmon Building, Stanley Street.
There are three multi-storey car parks on the South Brisbane campus—Hancock Street car park, Mater Hill (East and West) car parks and the Mater Medical Centre car park (refer to map for locations). All proceeds from Mater's car parks support Mater patient care and medical research. These car parks are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Parking attendants answer calls between 6.30 am and 9.30 pm Monday to Friday, and 11.30 am to 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Calls outside these times will be diverted to Mater Security.
