Pregnancy—correct use of seatbelts
This information is about the safest way for a pregnant woman to wear a seat belt.
- Place the shoulder strap or sash part of the seatbelt over the top of your uterus, between your breasts and across your collar bone. The strap should rest over your shoulder and not your neck.
- The lap part of your seatbelt should be as low as possible and fit snuggly under your uterus and across your hips.
- Your seatbelt should be worn as firmly as possible.
